...my
aim is to seek inventive and inspired solutions to
bring moving images and a narrative together - to make
others stop, watch and listen...
At 14, with a desire
to tell a story and no knowledge how to, I built a basic
edit suite on
my bedroom floor from
three VHS video recorders, each connected together by a
tangled home-made loom of
cables to transfer the images and sound
...from there a
career was born.
I left school early
to study TV & Film specialising in post production.
I then attended the National Film & Television
School. By 21, I was headhunted and tasked with
establishing and co-ordinating the day to day running of
a full facilities house and team covering Endemol UK's
post production output in Scotland - becoming the
youngest facility manager in the UK.
My goal however was
to be creative and since I have successfully worked as
an Offline Editor / Online Editor, covering senior
positions and craft roles for independent TV production
companies and major broadcasters, both in the UK and
internationally.
To this day, much
like I started off... my aim is to seek inventive and
inspired solutions to bring moving images and a
narrative together - to make others stop, watch and
listen.
In the last year, I have focused on creating work outside
of the suite.
I
self taught myself how to shoot and then co-produced and
filmed six music videos with artist Craig Mackay.
The
results speak for themselves - from transforming Jule
Fowlis into an otherworldly goddess to producing the final
music video for rock super-group Runrig to close out their
45 year career - I now have a body of work which
demonstrates the talent and creativity I posses in
producing work from conception to completion.
I
am keen to explore more methods of creating content and
new opportunities of producing exciting work which will
captivate it's audience.
